About Menus
Types of Menu
Designing in KhooSeller offers four menu options which can be found and edited under Design > Menus.
These four menus are:
- Horizontal Menu
- Mega Menu
- Vertical Menu
- Hamburger Menu (mobile menu - for use in responsive websites)
Caution: We do not recommend changing anything unless you know exactly what you're doing. This part is usually completed by your designer.
Each menu editor has the "Edit Raw Data" feature, enabling you to quickly copy menu styling from one KhooSeller website to another should you so need to.
Overview
Horizontal Menus
The majority of websites predominantly use a basic horizontal menu for navigation. KhooSeller will automatically use a horizontal menu to display folders and pages unless you style it otherwise using CSS, or if you choose to use a mega menu to navigate.
Mega Menus
Mega menus are used when there are several pages and/or filtered pages that need to be displayed across a horizontal navigation. The feature is normally used for eCommerce websites with large product ranges.
Mega menus allow for content beneath a menu bar to be displayed in columns. The menu can also be distinguished from the rest of the webpage using the Full Screen settings.
Vertical Menus
Vertical menus are often used within Left or Right Column sections. They can be styled globally within this section of the site and brought in with a component to the desired section.
Alternatively, vertical menus can be used as the predominant way of navigating a website, instead of using a horizontal navigation.
Hamburger Menu
The mobile-friendly hamburger menu is a feature for responsive websites only. It is bares it's name because of the three strips on the icon used to open the menu that shares resemblance to a hamburger.
